Psychology - Science or Religion

Posted 2009-09-15 10:43 by manarafo

Psychology is a subtle and widespread leaven in the Church. It has permeated the entire loaf and is stealthily starving the sheep. It promises far more than it can deliver and what it does deliver is not the food that nourishes. Yet multitudes of professing Christians view psychology with respect and awe.

If Your Baby Bites

Posted 2009-09-15 10:42 by manarafo

Some people assume that when a baby gets teeth it's time to wean. They may believe that baby teeth make breastfeeding painful for mothers. But as long as a baby is breastfeeding correctly, breastfeeding won't hurt, even after two, or four, or a whole mouthful of teeth have poked through baby's gums. Like many other challenges in parenting, the anticipation of teething is often worse than the actual experience.

The Divine Names Related to Existence

Posted 2009-09-15 10:40 by manarafo

Most of this is derived from a book in French whose name I've forgotten. It deals not only with the Ninety-Nine Names, but also with all the names - or names derived from the verbs - which refer to Allah in the Qur'an and in hadith. If I don't mention the hadith under the name, it isn't because it doesn't exist. It's because it wasn't in the notes I took from the book which I no longer have access to...

“Homosexual Wanting to Embrace Islam?” Ust. Suhaib Webb

Posted 2009-09-15 10:39 by manarafo

I am not a Muslim but I met a guy who never drinks or wastes any of his time, which I found to be impressive. While talking to him I realized that he was a Muslim and I started studying the religion. The complications lie in the fact that I have feelings towards men. I know it is wrong. I consider it an abomination. I don’t need anyone to tell me how sinful it is. But I can’t help it. I can stay away from committing the act but the feelings are always there. After reading the other questions about gays on the site they do not help me much. I cannot ignore the feelings and get married.

Why Nerds are Unpopular

Posted 2009-09-15 10:36 by manarafo

When we were in junior high school, my friend Rich and I made a map of the school lunch tables according to popularity. This was easy to do, because kids only ate lunch with others of about the same popularity. We graded them from A to E. A tables were full of football players and cheerleaders and so on. E tables contained the kids with mild cases of Down's Syndrome, what in the language of the time we called "retards."

Who WOULDN'T be School Phobic?

Posted 2009-09-15 10:36 by manarafo

‘School phobia’ is a dreadful label for some children's perfectly understandable response to being compelled to go to school against their will. They are not phobic, any more than a conscientious objector is a coward; they are refusing – and in most cases very nobly. Over the years, I have spoken to many worried parents of school-refusing children. The outrages these children have been subjected to in the name of ‘education’ disgust me.

Okay Kids, Time for Bedlam

Posted 2009-09-15 10:33 by manarafo

"Okay Kids, Time for Bedlam!" is a labor of love. It is the lighter side of life, told by Debbie Harbeson, an average mom who rather unknowingly lobbed herself into the often loopy world of homeschooling.

This is what happens to you, when you purposely allow your children to skip school to learn at home... and it's a riot! The whole endeavor, needless to say, has been a learning experience for everyone. And hopefully, a story you all can enjoy

Vaccinations: The Facts!

Posted 2009-09-15 10:32 by manarafo

FACT : Vaccines trick the body into focusing on only one aspect, antibody production, of the many normally available to the immune system. When the vaccine virus is injected directly into the blood stream, it gains access to all of the major tissues and organs of the body without triggering a normal immune response. 5 Antibodies that do respond to the invading vaccine germs become committed to those germs and are unable to react to other viruses. 6,7

FACT : The immune system is designed to help the organism discriminate "self" from potentially dangerous "nonself".

A User-Friendly Vaccination Schedule

Posted 2009-09-15 10:31 by manarafo

Vaccination is a controversial subject, and many parents worry about subjecting their children to them. Readers of my article "Mercury on the Mind," about vaccines and dental amalgams, have asked what vaccines I would recommend their children receive. This article addresses that question.
